With a sustainable message and an experimental approach, Budapest Central European fashion week Autumn/Winter 2023/2024, organized by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, took place in Budapest in the beginning of February 2023.
This season the organization took a turn and experimented with live presentations combined with performances that interact with the audience in 4 locations in Budapest: The National Dance Theatre, The Hungarian National Museum, The Museum of Ethnography, and the ELTE University Library.
Inclusive and sustainable approach: Romanian brand Borbála Ferencz presented their upcycled fashion at the National Dance Theatre, using only pre-loved items that have been alternated into unique pieces.
From Bratislava, Slovakia, Petra Kubikova showed a Japanese-inspired collection using natural materials that she considers a principal and determinative factor in her art.
The local brand Daige Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 collection presented its 10th anniversary by naming their collection TEN; it reflects on the past decade featuring organic lines, vibrant colors, and oversized silhouettes.
The Transylvanian brand, Abodi, presented their mythologic Unisus at the Hungarian National Museum: Patchwork with leather squares, mystic sea creatures, and a magic strawman took the stage at the neo-classical building.
