Marking its 30th anniversary, founder Naja Munthe’s unwavering commitment to art, female empowerment, and responsibility continues to shape its legacy. What began three decades ago as Naja’s personal quest to fulfill her creative vision has grown into an internationally recognized brand that not only pushes the boundaries of fashion but also influences cultural and social discourse.
The Spring/Summer 2025 collection, unveiled in a stunning show at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, during Copenhagen fashion week, was a heartfelt tribute to MUNTHE’s rich heritage. Titled “Planting a Seed,” the collection symbolized growth, creativity, and the nurturing of ideas. Naja Munthe herself cultivated the flowers that inspired the centerpiece of the collection—the “Pressed Flowers” print. These flowers, pressed and meticulously arranged by hand, embodied the beauty of nature and the importance of fostering creativity, a theme that has been central to MUNTHE’s journey.
The show started with a series of all-white looks that paid homage to the brand’s three-decade milestone. The diverse color palette, inspired by nature, featured soft blues, light yellows, various shades of grey, and a single striking red ensemble, all evoking a sense of optimism and renewal. Key pieces such as floral-embroidered dresses, intricately quilted bomber jackets, and expertly crafted leather skirts highlighted MUNTHE’s dedication to both craftsmanship and artistry.
The Bella Center itself was transformed into a minimalist dreamscape, with grand white installations adorned with MUNTHE’s signature leather cuts. Models navigated through the setting, merging fashion with art in a way that epitomized the brand’s ethos. The experience extended beyond the runway, as fashion guests—many dressed in the latest collection—added to the spectacle. Their presence blended seamlessly with the runway, turning the entrance into an integral part of the show’s visual narrative.
MUNTHE’s commitment to ethical production was evident throughout, from the use of eco-friendly materials to the brand’s support for local artisans. Accessories played a significant role in the collection, with perforated leather belts, floral-patterned bags, and handcrafted leather charms, all created in a Copenhagen studio, underscoring the brand’s dedication to sustainability and local craftsmanship.
