The Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2025 show, designed by Andreas Kronthaler, brought a refreshing blend of elegance, lightness, and purpose to Paris Fashion Week. Titled Calibrate, the collection focused on joy and beauty, reflecting Kronthaler’s vision of connecting people in a world that needs unity. The collection features delicate knits, timeless dresses, and subtle splashes of red and pink—without any prints, keeping it understated yet luxurious.

The runway served more than just fashion. Kronthaler used the show as a platform to advocate for environmentalist Captain Paul Watson, who is currently in custody and facing extradition for his campaigns against whaling in Antarctica. The designer urged the audience to sign a petition for his release, reminding everyone of the brand’s long-standing commitment to social and environmental causes.

As for the fashion itself, Calibrate took a softer turn compared to Westwood’s typically edgy designs. Silhouettes emphasized femininity with structured décolletés that were sensual yet tasteful. The show highlighted Kronthaler's ability to balance the bold with the elegant. Flowing fabrics, ruffles reminiscent of ocean waves, and tailored blazers added a sophisticated touch, all while staying true to the brand's rebellious spirit.

The collection felt like a tribute to the legacy of Dame Vivienne Westwood, who passed away in December 2022. Kronthaler's designs carried her vision forward, mixing beauty with activism. The show took place in Place de la République, a symbolic nod to protest and history, fitting for a brand that has always championed justice. The message was clear: fashion can be a tool for change.
