Chopard’s co-president unveiled a nature-inspired Caroline’s Couture collection at the Hôtel Martinez during the Cannes Film Festival.

Caroline Scheufele brought her world into bloom above the Croisette this week, unveiling the fourth Caroline’s Couture collection on the rooftop of the Hôtel Martinez during the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Against the backdrop of the Riviera sunset, the Chopard Co-President and Artistic Director transformed one of Cannes’ most storied hotels into an intimate garden suspended above the festival’s frenzy, a fitting setting for a collection devoted to what she calls “the miracle of nature.”
For Scheufele, Cannes has long been more than a red carpet destination. Chopard’s relationship with the festival spans nearly three decades, ever since the maison became the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival in 1998. Since then, the Swiss jeweler has become inseparable from the mythology of Cannes itself: crafting the Palme d’Or, adorning actresses and filmmakers in High Jewelry creations, and shaping the visual language of contemporary glamour on the Croisette. The Red Carpet Collection, launched by Scheufele in 2007, has evolved into one of the festival’s defining traditions, each year unveiling a new series of extraordinary jewels inspired by cinema, artistry, and now, nature.
This year, Scheufele extended that narrative through fashion. If previous Caroline’s Couture collections explored celestial worlds and cosmic fantasy, the 2026 collection turns inward, toward the intimacy of flora and fauna. Inspired by the gardens surrounding her Geneva home, Scheufele imagined couture as a study of delicate ecosystems: petals unfolding, dragonflies skimming water, climbing wisteria twisting through summer air. The collection embraced a softer, more organic sensibility, grounded in craftsmanship and texture rather than spectacle alone.
The palette reflected that vision. Shades of crimson, burgundy, blush pink, and vivid green referenced blooming roses, peonies, and lilies, while deep blues echoed the waters of Lake Geneva. Embroidered florals spread across sculpted gowns and sharply tailored suits through intricate fabric inlays, guipure lace, and laser-cut botanical motifs. Despite the density of embellishment, the silhouettes retained a remarkable lightness, moving with fluidity against the Mediterranean breeze.
The couture presentation was accompanied by exceptional pieces from Chopard’s latest Red Carpet Collection, reinforcing the dialogue between fashion and jewelry that Scheufele has carefully cultivated. The High Jewelry creations mirrored the themes of the collection: fleeting moments of beauty found in nature, from the shimmer of a singular sky to the fragile bloom of a flower or the unexpected grace of an animal in motion. Precious stones became extensions of the natural world, transformed through Chopard’s technical savoir-faire into pieces that felt both poetic and deeply alive.
There is also something distinctly personal about Caroline’s Couture. Unlike many celebrity-driven fashion ventures orbiting Cannes, Scheufele’s project feels rooted in her own aesthetic universe. Her couture collections are less about trends than atmosphere, expressions of the romantic, feminine world she has built through Chopard. The Hôtel Martinez presentation reflected that intimacy, inviting guests not simply to view clothes, but to step inside Scheufele’s imagination.
At Cannes, where fashion often exists in service of visibility, Caroline’s Couture offered something quieter and more refined: a meditation on beauty itself. Yet it also reinforced Chopard’s enduring position at the center of the festival’s identity. Few luxury houses are as deeply woven into Cannes as Chopard, and few figures have shaped its modern glamour as consistently as Caroline Scheufele. Through jewelry, couture, and the rituals of the red carpet, she continues to define a vision of Cannes where craftsmanship, elegance, and cinema remain inseparable.
