Packing for Copenhagen:
My Fashion Week Trend Prediction
Article by Gili Biegun
15/1/26
I’ve been attending Copenhagen Fashion Week every season since 2020, and over the years, I’ve learned that the real magic of this Scandinavian fashion capital isn’t just in the shows themselves but in the subtle details, the textures, the colors, from the street style, that hint at what the world will wear next. For this Pre-Spring 2026, I’m packing not only clothes but the pieces that feel alive right now, caught between the street style and the runway.
Here’s what’s making the cut

Primary Colors
Primary colors are back, but not in-your-face rainbow explosions. Copenhagen is about punctuation, not proclamation. A single flash of red or blue can elevate a monochrome outfit from quiet to unforgettable. For me, that means scarves. Scarves are one of the easiest ways to engage with a trend without buying a whole new wardrobe every season. I’ve picked a few from Florence, cashmere and silk, rich blues and sun-washed yellows that will lift even the simplest look. Scarves are effortless, endlessly reusable, and the perfect way to flirt with a trend while staying true to your personal style.

Fringe and Tassels
Fringe isn’t about kitsch anymore, it’s about movement, texture, and personality. I adore this moment in shoes and accessories. Currently contemplating if to bring my burgundy leather fringe pumps from Gia Borghini, a perfect mix of classic and playful. I've striped all my (and my friends') curtain holders (not sure of the correct term) and I’ll also bring a vintage silk fringe scarf and my cream raw-silk Maison Magdalena fringe scarf. These pieces can be styled in countless ways, giving me the freedom to style on the go. I’m still on the lookout for more tassels and fringe to mix into my suitcase for layering and accents.

Horses and Equestrian Motifs
2026 is the Year of the Horse, which feels like the perfect reason to embrace equestrian details in wardrobe choices. Pony hair, sometimes called pony fur, refers to hair-on leather left intact to create a tactile, luxurious surface. I already have a pony-hair bag I love and will build around that with boots or a coat if I find the right piece. Riding-inspired details, horse-bit belts, and structured boots all nod to independence, movement, and a refined, bold energy. My dream is a pony-hair coat that can pair effortlessly with sleek tailoring or soft layers.

Shoulder-Ready Bowling Silhouette
AKA The Modern Bowling Bag
Every editor needs a bag that works as hard as she does. The shoulder-ready bowling silhouette is roomy yet elegant, practical for navigating shows, coffee catchups, and street style moments without ever looking like a commuter tote. Structured leather keeps it polished, but playful variations add personality. This bag is a subtle statement, effortlessly functional, and perfect for a week of fashion in Copenhagen.

Animal Prints
with a Focus on Bambi
We are still very much vibing on the 90s, and with that comes a natural return to animal prints. Leopard, cow, and soft deer-inspired motifs feel familiar but reworked, less overt, more playful. Within this wider animal-print moment, Bambi prints stand out as the gentler, more whimsical expression of the trend. I’m still searching for the perfect Bambi-print piece to pack for Copenhagen, ideally a bag or even a coat, something that adds personality without tipping into costume. It feels nostalgic, slightly ironic, and very right for now.

Packing for Copenhagen Fashion Week is never just about clothes. It’s about understanding how people actually dress, how trends move from the runway to the street, and how style evolves in real time. Copenhagen has a way of setting the tone naturally. What works here tends to travel. SS26 feels focused and practical. And as always, this city will show us what people will actually wear next.
