KHAITE SPRING/SUMMER 2027: ROMANCE, WITH A LITTLE LEATHER

A romantic Spring/Summer 2027 collection inspired by Venice.

KHAITE has always understood the power of a strong silhouette. For Spring/Summer 2027, Catherine Holstein turns towards something softer, more romantic and feminine, taking inspiration from Venice and its layers of history.
Kaia Gerber opened the show, setting the tone in a high-waisted maxi leather pencil skirt and a white bra. Her hair was messy, her makeup was smudged. Kaia had a fun night last night, and it looked like all the other models did too. Lingerie became one of the season’s key references. Sheer constructions revealed glimpses of the body, delicate fabrics were finished with ruffles, and volume gave the clothes a sense of movement as they walked.
You could imagine a Venetian gallery owner by day and a party girl by night, walking through the streets of Venice the morning after a Carnevale masquerade party, wearing KHAITE Spring/Summer 2027.
The details were worth a closer look. Pleating, intricate embroidery and delicate handwork appeared throughout the collection, giving familiar silhouettes a new level of intimacy. Waistlines were very well defined, with proportions that frame the body and create a feminine shape. There is a feeling of old-world romance in the clothes, filtered through KHAITE’s New York sensibility.
Silk meets leather throughout the collection. Lingerie-inspired pieces sit alongside sculptural forms, while delicate finishes are grounded by heavier materials. The result is a collection where softness and strength exist side by side, with the tension between the two giving the clothes their character.
And then there were the leather jackets.
Among the romance, they immediately feel like the pieces that could have the biggest life beyond the runway. KHAITE knows what a great leather jacket can do, and the Spring/Summer 2027 collection offers several strong interpretations, with defined waists and sculptural shapes that make them feel made for real wardrobes. They bring the collection back to the part of KHAITE that women already know and want, while fitting naturally into this more feminine chapter.
There are also simpler pieces that stand out for the same reason. A clean black and white dress has an immediate appeal, and is the kind of piece you could imagine wearing again and again. Among the more elaborate dresses, ruffles and sheer layers, these quieter looks give the collection the commercial sense that this show needed.
The accessories also deserve a mention. The Blake handbag returns in new sizes and silhouettes, while the Lotus gets a seasonal embroidered motif. New additions include the Gilda and Noeme heels, the Hunting Scene belt and Rocco embossed jewelry, alongside belts with a floating stud design.
Holstein’s Venice inspiration gave the collection its atmosphere, but the clothes remained the focus. Romance comes through in the movement of a skirt, the transparency of a fabric, the curve of a waist and the tiny details of the embroidery. Then a leather jacket enters the picture and brings everything back to earth.
