Some days, my life fits neatly inside a handbag.
Other days, my handbag needs to fit my life.

I have learned that my bag choices tend to reflect where I am, not just geographically, but emotionally. There are moments when I am moving through the world lightly, armed only with my phone and house keys, trusting that everything I need already lives inside a screen. And then there are days when I am traveling, working, transitioning between cities and meetings, when I need a bag that can hold everything and still look composed while doing so.
These days, my handbag wardrobe lives at both extremes, and I like it that way.
When life requires structure, planning and a bit of foresight, I reach for larger bags that are designed to work hard without looking like they are trying too much.
The Stockholm by DeMellier London has become one of my most reliable companions. It is the kind of bag that understands modern life. There is room for my laptop, chargers, passport, boarding passes and makeup essentials that keep me feeling human on long travel days. There is space for a light scarf when the airplane gets cold and even a small perfume bottle for a quiet refresh before landing. It is elegant, practical and quietly confident, which is exactly what I want from a bag when I am on the move.
The New York by DeMellier London plays a similar role, but with a slightly different attitude. It feels architectural and polished, with enough room to carry an entire workday inside it. It is the bag I choose when I need to transition seamlessly from airport to meeting to dinner, without changing anything except perhaps my lipstick.

And then there is the other side of my life.
The side where I leave the house with nothing but my phone, my keys and a sense of freedom.
On those days, a small bag is not a compromise. It is a statement.
The New York Shoulder Bag by DeMellier London is perfect for those moments. Compact, chic and easy, it carries exactly what I need and nothing I do not. It sits beautifully on the shoulder and works just as well during the day as it does in the evening.
One of my current favorites is the Verafied New York bag. Small, sharp and effortlessly modern, it has adjustable straps that allow me to change the way I wear it, depending on my mood or the moment. It is the kind of bag that feels intentional, even when my plans are not.
What I love most about this mix of bags is that together they reflect real life. Not a fantasy version of it, but the one where we travel, work, rush, pause, simplify and sometimes carry everything with us.
Some days, I need a bag that carries my entire world.
Other days, I just need one that lets me forget about it.
And honestly, I would not give up either.
