Vera Wang Goes
After Dark
For Autumn/Winter 2026, Vera Wang turns the city at night into the backdrop for her first ready-to-wear campaign, exploring the sensual transformation of the everyday wardrobe after dark.

What happens when the clothes you wear during the day follow you into the night? For Vera Wang, it opens up a wardrobe of possibilities, where a few well chosen pieces can take you effortlessly from one part of the day to the next.
Titled After Dark, the designer’s inaugural ready-to-wear campaign for AW26 captures a wardrobe in transition, photographed by Till Janz against the atmospheric backdrop of the city at night. The collection is built around familiar wardrobe essentials: the trench, the blazer, the white cotton overshirt, the LBD, the legging and the bandeau. But each piece is designed to have more than one life.
A trench becomes an evening wrap. An oversized white shirt can transform into a mini dress. A bandeau can become the statement piece of an evening look or be layered casually over a T-shirt. It is a concept that speaks to the appeal of a more considered wardrobe: fewer pieces, more possibilities. The kind of clothes that work hard for you, whether you are getting dressed for the office, heading out for dinner or packing a suitcase for a weekend away. One great piece that can move between day and night also means less to pack, less space taken up in the wardrobe and a more versatile way of dressing.
“This collection is not necessarily about any one woman, but an attitude — one that expresses both sophistication and versatility. Throughout my career, as both a fashion editor and a designer, I have always been drawn more to how clothing is worn — almost more than the pieces themselves,” Wang says.
That philosophy feels incredibly relevant right now. The way we dress has become increasingly fluid, with the boundaries between day and night, formal and casual, dressed-up and undone becoming increasingly blurred. After Dark embraces that freedom rather than prescribing a single way to wear the collection.
Janz’s imagery reinforces the idea. The campaign plays with darkness, lighting and the intimacy of the city after hours, creating what the photographer describes as “a private moment in a public space.” The result is sensual without feeling overly polished, capturing the mysterious energy of a woman moving through the city on her own terms.
“The campaign began before we ever talked about a campaign. Vera sent me an image she loved — a woman in the city at night. There is something so modern about wearing your day wardrobe even at night. The backgrounds and lighting deliberately create a mood that is both atmospheric and suggestive. A private moment in a public space… romantic and personal,” Janz says.
For Wang, shooting the campaign at night was a natural extension of her own approach to dressing. “That is how I personally style myself — and make my wardrobe work for me,” she explains.
And perhaps that is the most compelling message behind After Dark: a wardrobe does not need to change completely when the sun goes down. Sometimes, all it needs is a different styling, a new attitude and the confidence to see the same piece differently.
